Alyson Shields Yoga Teacher (Ravenhall Studio)
Alyson began her yoga journey in her 20's, as a physical exercise tool. She was aware that staying flexible is beneficial for the later years! She had no idea of the holistic healing powers of yoga. It gently pushed at her mind limitations through yoga asanas/poses, coupled with pranayama/breath work, and then meditation. The harmony it brings to the mind and body still amazes her today.
She completed her Level 1 Teacher Training with Yoga & Meditation School of India in 2014 and wanted to further her knowledge of this ancient practice. She later completed her Advanced Level Yoga Teacher Training, which included Ayurveda.
She has a deep passion for yoga and meditation, nutrition, art and music. She has been teaching for 5 years, adults and children. Medical research shows that making art, as well as appreciating art, engages childrens' developing brains. With yoga as a platform, and creativity as an intention, we can lay the foundation for a lifelong practice that will continue to deepen and heal.
